The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications at the moment are open and can shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house by using a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined family money does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded nsfas application to offer the right Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are researching or intend to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until nsfas check the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
